Beat Drowsiness While Meditating and Tips on how you can stay awake

Hello and welcome to the Ancient wisdom modern mind podcast and today I will share some Mindfulness Meditation Techniques that will help you to stay awake during meditation if that’s a problem you are having.

Falling asleep during meditation is a very common occurrence that meditators face during their practice. And if it happens to you once a while you don't need to be too concerned. When we are learning to meditate, we are looking for a balance between focus and relaxation and in the process it is inevitable that from time to time we’ll drift a little too far in either direction, sometimes feeling too tense and at other times falling asleep. However, the more you can stay awake and aware, the more benefits you’ll receive from your practice.

Learning how to apply the right amount of effort is a very subtle thing and requires practice. And of course, every day will be different, so this process of learning is ongoing. There are a number of things we can do to stay awake during a meditation. These easy ways to help you conquer that frustration and achieve your best state of wakefulness.
