How to Become Enlightened and the Human Agreement

What distinguishes humans from enlightened beings is that an enlightened being no longer accepts the human agreement. They learn how to control their attention, how to focus the attention with impeccable devotion and how to reprogram the subconscious. These enlightened beings learn how to stop thoughts completely and to focus the attention outside the human agreement, and also outside of human reality.

“Every act, every thought, every activity involves awareness, do these actions instinctively, unconsciously, and without deliberateness and awareness is consumed in the maintenance of the Self. Perform these acts deliberately and with impeccable devotion and one increases awareness.”

Hello and welcome to the Ancient wisdom modern mind blog and today I want to share with you the idea of a collective agreement and this agreement is what we call humanity.

When you are born you become a member of a collective agreement we call humanity, this is a collective agreement between billions of smaller individuals. Personal egos which come together to create a family, a community, a society, a nation, and finally an agreement called humanity. This agreement includes all of society’s rules, its beliefs, its laws, its religions, its different cultures and ways to be, its governments, schools, and social agreements.

This Human agreement is the foundation of self, and is in essence a psychological agreement for being human, an agreement where we agree to conform, and from the moment we are born our attention is introduced to this agreement by our parents, school teachers, social peers and religious leaders.

This agreement locks in our attention and forces us to discriminate and to focus only on that which is needed to maintain the agreement, and as we hold this personalized focus at the conscious level of the mind it also seeps into the subconscious and is then reflected back as random thoughts and emotions which we feel as real.

When we were babies we focused our attention on our parents, their actions seep into our mind, and then when we go to school we focus our attention on our teachers and our peers which also programs this agreement into our mind, which then reinforces the social rules for being human.

As this programing begins to become entrenched within our subconscious mind we begin to form habits and patterns that keep us focused only on that part of the agreement which is repeated the most. We actually perceive millions of things simultaneously, but by using our attention, we can hold whatever we want to perceive at the conscious level of the mind.

By using our attention we learn a whole reality. We learn how to behave in society, we learn what to believe and what not to believe; what is acceptable and what is not acceptable; what is good and what is bad; what is beautiful and what is ugly; what is right and what is wrong. All our knowledge, all our understanding, all the rules and concepts about how to behave socially are stored within this agreement.

We recreate this agreement continuously with our thoughts, and these thoughts continually reinforce and also reprogram the subconscious mind which fixes the agreement as beliefs, opinions and finally actions.

And this is what distinguishes humans from enlightened beings, an enlightened being no longer accepts the human agreement. They learn how to control their attention, how to focus the attention with impeccable devotion and how to reprogram the subconscious. These enlightened beings learn how to stop thoughts completely and to focus the attention outside the human agreement, and also outside of human reality.
